Play Helix Jump Offline & Install It as an App
Helix Jump works without an internet connection once you've opened it once, and you can add it to your home screen like a real app — no app store required.
Yes — Helix Jump plays offline. HelixJump.world is a Progressive Web App: after your first online visit it caches itself, so it launches and plays with no connection — on a plane, the subway, or spotty signal. You can also "Add to Home Screen" (iPhone/Android) or install it (desktop Chrome/Edge) and it opens full-screen like an installed game, still with no download from any app store. The only thing that needs a connection is the live leaderboard. It's the same offline play the app-store versions (including Helix Jump+ on Apple Arcade) offer — without the download, the subscription, or the platform lock-in.
How offline play works
The first time you open helixjump.world, a small service worker stores the game — the page, the code, and the 3D engine — in your browser's cache. After that, opening the URL (or the installed icon) loads instantly from that cache, whether you're online or not. The game itself is entirely local: the physics, the tower, the scoring all run in your browser, so nothing about the actual play needs the network. Your personal best is saved locally too.
The one online-only piece is the public leaderboard — submitting and viewing global scores needs a connection. Offline, you still play and still beat your own best; those scores sync the next time you're online.
Install it as an app
Because it's a PWA, you can put Helix Jump on your home screen with no app store:
- iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap the Share button, then "Add to Home Screen" (on newer iOS versions, leave "Open as Web App" switched on). It opens full-screen, no browser bars.
- Android (Chrome): tap the menu, then "Add to Home screen" or "Install app."
- Desktop (Chrome / Edge): click the install icon in the address bar, or the menu → "Install HelixJump.world."
The installed version is the same game, just launched from an icon in a full-screen window — with the offline caching above, it behaves like a native game you never had to download.
Why this matters
Most "free games" either need an app-store download or stop working the moment your connection drops. Helix Jump does neither: nothing to install, no ads, and it keeps playing offline. It's the closest a browser game gets to a proper installed app without any of the friction.
